Vex'd

My two sisters visited Montréal to help me move back my stuff, we ended up going for dinner with my father at a buffet, and I only had two plates – waste of money for sure. Came back to Ottawa, and I’m enjoying the atmosphere, the slow paced streets of Ottawack. But the people are less friendlier for a small town – We was at St. Laurent mall earlier, and some broad at a bookstore/cafe was acting rude, I figured she didn’t think a nigga could read or some’m. I asked her if they had books on graffiti culture, and she just pointed to some shelf, saying nothing, and I tried to ask her more questions and she was rude a hell. I don’t know how many of yal experienced this, but I was vex’d.

Its late now talking to the usual suspects on skype, were having a conference talking politics, business, ‘pure jokes’ as Mnyce says and sometimes we do get out of line and forget that Muslimunity the only girl – and we often get out of line with offensive remarks. Dore is trying to buy more Somali domains, and JR is talking about his ‘charity corporation’ called data, which will launch soon. I highly recommend this little track about some old guy doing some funny music track.

We’re thinking about multi-blogging.

Goodbye!

Finally, I’m leaving Montreal, heading towards Ottawa, where I will not have to worry about where my next meal is coming from. I will be eating homemade food, the usual Somali food, rice, pasta, and lots of meat. I’ will be taking a break from Mr. Noodles, they are cheap and fast to prepare, but they can get on your nerves. The taste is horrible after a while. By now I can write a cookbook on preparing prepackaged noodles.

New Issue

After two intense weeks of designing the new issue and re-archiving the back issues, Pace magazine is finally back online. I’ will be archiving all the back issues and making them available online very soon. We are also trying to create a CD-Rom which will contain all the back issues, and some extras in terms of audio/photography.

If you haven’t read Pace before, should give it a try and if you think you can do a better job, please let us know, we always want to hear from people. View the current issue here >>>>

Shirt Design

Threadless.com is an online t-shirt shop, where graphic designer can upload their design concepts and in return other members rate the design, and the one with the most or highest rating gets to be printed. The winner gets of course a free shirt and from what I hear, $500 spending money on the site. The design above is my favourite, it probably took the designer five minutes to create, but it says so much. Stick up kids would love shirts like that – overall the concept is original and creative.

Walk With Me

I was walking on St. Catharine’s street in Montreal – I was about to cross the street, and on the side walk there was this pigeon.

Smoking

I been trying to quit cigarettes for the past year or so, and I think I have lasted for more than a week now. I’m not even craving for it, the thought of it is killing me, or maybe I’m just lying to myself. I have saved so much money so far, and I’m spending it on other things. Not to mention those anti-smoking ad campaigns do really help people quit. Will let you know if I relapse.

Graffiti Notes

Most of my notes have little side graffiti drawings – see classes get boring sometimes, and they are long, some straight two hours without a break. Most of the time I draw in classes which have a lot of people, its easier – I mean you don’t’ want to be caught doodling. I have many more graffiti notes – I will post them in the near future.
